Miracles Resort Park Panama City Beach, Florida On the previous page we learned how Miracle Strip Amusement Park was Created in March of 1963 and Closed September 5th, 2004 The Lights Of Miracle Strip were now off for good. Preparation was underway to develop the property into Miracles Resort Park. You were going to love this place so much that you just had to live here. It would feature Miracle Strip Rides enclosed for all to enjoy in all weather conditions. Life would be Grand. (If You Could Afford It!) Would You Want To Live At Miracles Resort Park On Miracle Strip ? - Great Introductory Value Luxury Condos would be offered at pre-construction discount levels in the $685,000 to $900,000 dollar price range. (We would hate to see the regular prices once they were built if in fact they had ever been.) These prices reflect the real estate boom of the early 2000s and were offered as pre-construction introductory discount purchase deals. They were supposed to be such a great value that everyone would have to have one as a comfortable escape to sip their Latte' or again so the developers thought or dreamed about.
Equipment began arriving and the construction was about to begin. You could visit their temporary office within what was Miracle Strip and buy one of these new Luxury Condominiums. Tours were underway and you could see all the construction trailers and equipment arrive for the new wonder luxury development on Panama City Beach. Workman were busily and quietly dismantling all rides within Miracle Strip Park and the transformation was taking place at a brisk pace.
Everything of potential value was stripped and rides were sold and then with the economy beginning to cool in 2005. Unfortunately not enough prospects were coming around and buyers were not so easily spending as they needed to be or were anticipated to be. The Financial collapse of the Real Estate Market had hit here on Panama City Beach. Everything came to a standstill and what remains of Miracle Strip sits in decay as everyone has gone. For those of us who had the fortunate opportunity to visit this icon for almost half of the twentieth Century. You can still feel a certain level of excitement as you look upon the remains of what was Miracle Strip Amusement Park. You can peer through the chain link fence around the property and see the remains of a dream that was obviously much more powerful than the new vision that was intended for it. These developers must have felt Dante's Inferno upon their development plans as their dreams were burning up in Dante's Infernal Flames ! With this page we will attempt to share with the character of what remains today. Maybe you remember entering the park under this grand entrance.
Maybe you can recall your own experiences as you paid at the admission window for your armband and approached the Abominable Snowman with great anticipation of the fun that awaited you inside the ice cold blue dome that held great times to come and allowed an escape from the heat of the Panama City Sun. Maybe you can recall the long lines as you awaited your ride on the Log Flume Ride or Starliner Roller Coaster. Maybe you can recall the excitement and perhaps childhood fright of lining up in front of Dante's Inferno awaiting the excitement and perhaps even worried in the back of your mind if this huge beast of a devil would blow his inferno flames in your direction. Today Dante's Inferno is not looking too bad for wear as he sits peacefully among Native Palm Trees and scrub brush here in his final resting place within the remains of what was Miracle Strip Amusement Park.
Rather than the fire breathing overseer of lines of smiling and laughing kids. He simply serves dutifully, quietly and peacefully along with his longer lived companion and best friend. The Abominable Snowman.
At this time we are going to post a few pictures of the Park in its remaining state to allow you to enjoy what was the great Icon of Miracle Strip Amusement Park.
